L3901 HST mystery ring

I found this just below the forward and reverse pedal laying on top of what looks like a safety switch. I know this is a lot to ask but someone might recognize it.

This is on a L 3901 and I cannot find where it came from.

If everything is still working on the tractor toss it in the junk drawer and get back to work

I'll look tomorrow, but I think it might be the collar on the end of the brake pedal, it's supposed to be held on by a snap ring.
