While I'm doing long neglected little repairs, I thought I'd go after this problem. The longer you ran in the sun and the hotter the machine got, tach needle would hit the glass and become inaccurate. I'm sure it's curled from PO storing it outside for 20+ years .
Being sure if I tried to bend it back it would surely break. I taped it down, put a light coat of quick epoxy on it, then let it cure. It did hold it's shape, so I'll let you guys know if there's any follow up issues.
