For those who didn't follow my previous threads, I have an L35 that was contaminated with water in the hydraulic fluid and I had bacteria in it.

I have killed the bacteria and most of the water is out through usage and fluid changes. As it turns out I have a model right about the transition point of part numbers so it is about mid-run of this model. As it turns out I am blowing a hydraulic line about once a week or so and the fluid is being replaced accordingly. It will be clean as a whistle soon.

So here is my question; a local person is selling a Jeep cj-3b and I have found a site in Canada which sells a bell housing adapter and flywheel to adapt a Kubota 03 series engine into it, what are the 03 series engine numbers? V2403 etc.etc.etc. I have not found a definitive list anywhere.

Yes any engine number ending in 03, is an 03 series engine.
Now you will need to be careful as an O3-E engine might have a fixed governor and will only run at one speed, they are used in generators, pumps, and other fixed speed applications.

That is good info. I didn't think about totally stationary engines.

My big problem is I am not sure what a series 03 really means. So I have been to Kubota Japan etc. but all I can find is their newest series 03 in tier4 emission configurations.

I really want to go to the local farm auction and buy an abused tractor with the correct bell housing etc with a wireing harness etc and make it work. I am thinking there must have been 03 series before 2014 and I just can't put my finger on the engine numbers.

In 2014+ they are V2804 and D1803. There has to be others I might be able to grab off ebay or something.

There are a few engines in that line up, the following being ones that I know. I am not sure which ones will interchange, tho. D1403, D1503, D1703, D1803, V1703, V2003, V2203, V2403. I have also been told that a V1902 will interchange with the V1703 and V2203, but don't hold any credibility to that yet.

Hope this helps

I'm thinking of getting a V2203 to swap out for my V1702 if I can find one at the right price, I do know that they will interchange. ;)

For a jeep build I would go with a V2203, good motor, and easy to get parts for it!

Thanks to everyone. I now have a substantial list of possibilities.

I hope every one had a great Father's Day.

Oh, and BTW, that tornado that went through Howard County Maryland yesterday got to with in a mile of my farm. Lost two trees but thankful that was all.

Semper Fi everyone.
