L3200 Bogging Down While in High Gear?

Hi everyone,

When I’m in low on my L3200 HST it “seems” to have the correct power. However, when I put it in high speed to travel down the road it does not go to top speed. Instead it bogs down almost like it’s cutting out when accelerating. Release pedal and returns to high idle but in what seems to be a gradual rpm increase to where it should be. With said, I had to flush my fuel tank as someone put a bunch of chew in the tanka few years ago. After I put it back together, (With a HUGE thank you to the Idaho wolf man), it seemed to run ok. But I didn’t really have it in high speed at all since then until now. Can anyone recommend what to check? I’m thinking of changing fuel filter but not sure what else to look into?
Thanks in advance for your advice!!

I like the idea of changing the fuel filter(s) ---- you might want to check the hose after the filter or however it is routed - allowing the fuel to pour into a clean glass jar ........ what I am getting at is this - does the fuel flow well, steady stream?

You are not at idle when moving in HIGH are you? What is your RPM's when in moving high gear?

I haven’t tried taking the hose off yet. As far as the rpm’s, normally all the way open. But seems to big wherever the rpm’s are at a higher level.

There might be a screen in the input line of the Fuel filter housing, check flow out of tank again, and check flow out of fuel filter housing output.

Was going to suggest if you plan to change filter then just change the whole filter housing assembly. Its not much more then the filter and o rings

I am not sure if the same thing or not, but my B will do that it I have the 3pt lever all the way to the top…I only notice when going up hill. I think mine dead heads In that situation. If I leave the lever to high I have a trouble if going uphill. Maybe it’s not your situation? Simple check though.
