My L2850 occasionally just does nothing when I turn the key to start it. If I take a hammer and just tap the starter gently it takes right off. I have replaced the starter and it still does it. Any Ideas?

sounds like a ground problem. Clean the battery cables at all 4 ends. You might also clean the engine where the starter mounts to the engine. The starter is grounded to the engine there.

Might want to check the solenoid wire connection and the clutch switch (which is just behind the starter) too, because if you replaced the starter and it acts the exact same then the issue is most likely not the starter or connections. ;)

Funny thing is I never know when it is going to act up. Sometimes it will be ok for a month or two, other times it might be one day. I don't use this a lot so maybe that don't help.
