Lately I have been hearing an intermittent noise from the right rear area that is getting worse. Its not a grinding sound, more of a ka-thunk every couple of revolutions of the tire. We thought it might have been a bad bearing in the rear but when I pulled off the axle case cover all the bearings spin freely and everything seems to rotate fine. The gears are not missing any teeth and seem to be in good repair. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Check the brakes, they could be making noise too.

Well, it turned out to be rather simple. I decided to search the forum just for rear end noise (rather than specific to my model as I had done before posting) and stumbled upon the answer in a couple of previous posts. I didn't notice it when I removed the wheel but the bolts holding the hub to the rim were just loose enough to allow it to slide creating the noise.
