Your options are not good, nothing simple.
Sounds like you've broken something in the drive, the only way to know what is to split it.

I owned a dt2650 for like twenty years. Never any trouble. I wonder if it could be in the final drives? You dont need to split the tractor to check them out.

Interesting. A response to Jimmyjazz when there is not a Jimmyjazz post in the thread...LOL...must be the power of moderation...LOL
He deleted his own post, no mod trickery here.

To check for a failure in the final drive you just apply the turning brakes one at a time while trying to drive the tractor while the front axle is disengaged. If it will drive with one of the brakes engaged, you have a failure on that side.

When I disengage the 4 wheel drive the tractor won't move so I can't try it with the brakes

The test will still work, because if it does have a broken final drive, as the brakes are before the final drive, so if it's a broken final, applying one brake or the other will make it move.
And the brake side that you press will be the side with the broken drive.

Make sure your rims are not spinning inside the rear tires, sounds wacky, but has happened more than a few times, especially if the tires are loaded with beet juice.

That's more of a BX issue, not normally an L issue.
