I have a L2550DT-GST that seems to have a defective clutch safety switch. When starting I have to engage the clutch 1-6 times while holding the ignition key to the start position. It appears that the switch must be bad, but I can not locate where the switch is in order to replace it. Any help would be appreciated.

I just did that adjustment on my Uncles L2550 GST. The switch is located behind the sheet metal on the left (clutch pedal) side. Ya have to take quite a few fasteners off to get to it.
Just start taking out the obvious ones, wiggling the sheet metal as you go.
Note: one piece of the sheet metal goes all the way across the top of the gear box, with fasteners on the right side.
Sounds like a pain in the butt, but it's not that bad.
