Hi I have just aquired my first Kubota l2550 and am looking for a small used backhoe for it. It will need to have a PTO hydraulics kit but I am wondering if anyone has 1st hand experience and can let me know what the issues are and which ones on the market are most appropriate. So far I have been advised to look at the L650, the BL4690 and a Long 1199A, which seem to vary significantly!!!

Woods builds a great product! Whatever you buy, I cannot stress how much you need a subframe. It's been a while, I believe you can get them with PTO pump hydraulics.

I have a L2950 with a Woods 7500 hoe with sub frame. I shudder to think how the 3pt hitch would stand up to the sharp immediate impact stress caused by just normal digging.
My soil is very poor rocky and ledge I have put in maybe 10 culverts and 500 yards of ditching easy with mine over the years. You need a sub frame unless you are willing to risk breaking the rear housing,.. in time I believe this would happen. You have come seeking advice well this is my opinion. Good Luck Jeff
