Got a l245dt I understand frt axle takes 85-90 gear oil separate from trans and hydraulics what about rear diff? Is it fed by the hydraulic fluid or is it separate because it has a drain plug on bottom and fill plug on top. If it is fed by hydraulics will it fill itself or do I manually fill it ,new at this 1979 4WD l245dt . Thks

Your tractor is a common sump design and requires a multi-purpose.(aka universal) tractor transmission fluid. It is formulated to function as both a gear and hydraulic oil. Kubota UDT is the OEM branded formulation but there are many other brands/formulations on the market. The filler on top fills transmission, differential, and hydraulic system.
