I'm working on an L225. Tach is not working, but when I disconnect the cable at the tach drive, and use a drill to turn it, the tach works. So, I turned my attention to the tach drive. There is a tab in there which is turning as it should. Problem is, the tach cable does not have a slotted end to mate with the tab in the tach drive. Has something broken off the end of the cable?? Or am I missing an adapter part that connects the tab to the square tach cable?

Any help would be appreciated.

Vic,
Correct me if im wrong but the tach's on our L225's are not oiled by the engine's oiling system and regular external lubricating of the cable is required? i have replaced the cable on my L225DT twice in the 34 years we've owned it which, i guess, isn't too terrible .

Thanks guys. I'm ordering the replacement today. Fortunately, previous owner must have lubricated the tach drive, because everything seems OK in there.
