It started last year and was shedded running but now it won't start.
Bled the injectors, have fresh battery but nothing. It has fuel but I have noticed a small wisp of smoke coming from what I am guessing is the starter.
Should add that it turns over happily
Unfamiliar with what diesel ignition looks like but if was gas I would say the lead from coil to starter is overheating.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Are you getting compression?
I'm getting everything but the actual "firing". It turns over nicely, coughs smoke and makes me believe that maybe this time....
Glow plug light doesn't light up but couple years back it rattled loose and slid under dash a bit so I just counted instead. Checking now i see it doesn't light up.
The overheating of the two components on the starter bothers me too but if it cranks i assume they still work.
So I'm a bit lost

Will try that tomorrow. Mouse blocking air I assume? By why the ground if it turns over?
I see you are from Winnipeg, guessing around Winnipeg, if I can't get it started - do you have a mechanic who will work on these things.
I'm leaning toward the glow plugs as the problem but most certainly will try your suggestions
Thanks

I mention the ground bc I'm trying to rule out all the little things.
Check the decompression lever as well.
Plugs are a possibility, search on here for a method to test them.

I'm in Hazelridge.
Happy to help out where I can.
