Can you l185 owners tell me if your headlights have a low beam and a high beam? My switch has two settings on it, on the first setting, i have just tail lights, on the second setting i have tail lights and headlights. On my b6000 i do have a low and a high beam...b6000 also has a horn gosh darnit....cant believe they didnt put one on the l185!

If it's like an L 1500, which I think is like an L 175?
The first position is low beam the second position is hi beam,
however I do not have rear lights on a L 1500?

Yes with good bulbs you will have low and high beams. Usually one or the other will burn out and the other works awhile.

Even on high beam you don't get much light

There are some threads about replacing the standard lights (whole assembly) with led assemblies. Check that all the wires are connected up under the hood.

I posted a long time ago about how to get the bulb out of the assembly - it was not as easy as you might think if you have no idea what to take apart.

Well Russell that is definitely no "bovine feces",
I forgot what a PITA those old motorcycle light bulbs were.
Before a Kubota the last one I changed was on a Yamaha 3 wheeler in the 80s.

Oh yes, well all in all Kubota seem to be very well designed and built, whoever decided to install those lights should have been fired. Something better should have been available.

Check power at the spade terminal for the low beam. If no power, then you'll need to trace the wires back to the switch to see if they are damaged, or if it's a bad switch. Could be the wire is disconnected at the key switch as well. Have you checked the fuses?
