L 3010 Head Light bulbs??

I'm just curious if anyone knows if there is any updated head light version other than the original?? The original bulbs are not very bright, and the retainer does a poor job of keeping the electrical contacts in place. I'm about ready to fashion an H3 bulb to retrofit it to a single beam that you can actually see something with. Rather than pay $17.00 a piece for bulbs, plus the retainers!!!

Don't know that I would use halogens, could it melt the plastic? But I am entrigued by the thought of LEDs. Sound expensive though. I agree, the headlight is weak. I've been thinking about some way to put floods on top of the guard, sort of like a snow plow. If you do a conversion, post it up. Not seen any in my searches.

maybe a dumb question but...
where would one find these LED replacement bulbs?
my L3010 could use a little (or a lot) more light up front and I'm thinking of replacing the rear floods with an upgrade also.

There's lots of sources for LEDs, just google "LED auto bulbs". The cool thing is they're very bright with low amps and almost no heat. I think even the auto parts stores have these now.

I like this idea. Since my tractor is in my shop right now, I'll take a look this evening and see what the bulb bases look like. If they're standard auto style bayonets, a swap would be easy.

All I could find on the head light for my L3830 was the part diagram. At $16+ per bulb times 2, I'll consider LEDs.

I've been snooping around the superbrightled.com web sight. So many to choose from, still haven't made a decision!
