I need to remove the fuel tank on an M7060HDC12 tractor. Does the left rear wheel need to be removed or can it be done without this step?

Have you removed fuel tank drain cover? I would guess tank could be removed without removing rear wheel. I saw no mention of fuel tank R&R in my M7040 WSM.

If you don't mind sharing, why do you need to remove your tank? Just curious, I like to keep up with issues I may face with my tractor.

Although my tractor is an M7040 open station, I was told by the dealer you need to take off the wheel....not true. It was tight, but it come out without that much issue. I rupture my tank via a stick doing grapple works in the woods, and dang near did it a second time.

lugbolt,

Did you remove that fuel tank yet? If so, can the tank be removed without removing the rear left tire?

Thanks...

Looks like this thread never finished. Just to let anyone know. You can remove the fuel tank without taking the tire off. It is very tight with more parts than you think, but it can be done. There is a skid plate under the fuel tank with straps that support the plate and the tank. So the tank has to be lowered after the straps are disconnected and moved. It took us about 5 hours to remove and replace the tank.
