Hi I posted this in the Attachment forum and i think it would be better posted here.

Can I wire the glow plugs in the following manner?
From the hot side of the three position ignition switch to the glow plug controller and then to the first glow plug and then daisy chained to the other 5 glow plugs. Is that the correct way?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Randy

The following is from my M7040 shop manual.
I think most are the same.

Each glow plug has one terminal and is grounded by the engine block.

With the power wiring going to each glow plug which only has one + terminal they are being wired in parallel.

Your daisy chain description makes sense providing your glow plugs are as stated above with one threaded terminal.

If you are rewiring and you are supplying a nice heavy cable to the first, then smaller to the daisy chain, ideally supply to the 3rd or 4th and daisy chain in each direction for lower voltage drop to the last plug. It's not critical, and it depends on what cable you are using. If you have factory bussbar or existing wiring, just join to where ever the original wiring fitted.
