Down at the dealer...had a Kubota brand diesel can...I liked the spout...glad I have a 100 micron filter...cause the can should have come with a free fuel filter...

Sorry. New guy here. What is in the filter that was saved - should I be filtering the gas when I fill it up?

Plastic fragments leftover from manufacturing the can. Diesel was clean.

Look at some of my previous posts. I had Utah Biodiesel make me a 100 micron filter for my filler neck after spending a day dismantling the tractor to fish a foil bottle seal out of the tank.

Tractor NUG,

On the bx series - there are two fairly cheap inline filters, one is a total PITA to change - the other not so much, once the first one gets clogged with "stuff", you run into all kinds of fuel related problems.

That custom made filter will allow fluids through but nothing else.

AND yes - you should filter your "diesel" (I know you meant diesel?) at the tractor tank each time you fill up, time and effort well spent!

Lol. Yes, Diesel. And I will definitely get a filter to use for sure. Thanks!

I made even a worse boneheaded move and laid my plastic diesel cap keeper on my gas cap and forgot / into the tank it went. Took a gripper tool and an endoscope to get it out!

So the $35 diesel can I purchased from the dealer...it fell out of my bucket and hit cap first and shattered. Tuf Jug has replacement Ripper caps for $27.22 and another $20 in shipping. Cheaper to buy another can...

wow you guys are extreme!

i just drive down to the station at the bottom of the hill & fill it up... same thing all of my neighboring small farmers do to. usually a couple of us run into each other & BS or pass each other ... but then again i do live in a really rural area that has a high concentration of Amish buggy's on the road.

the guys with the big farms/tractors have fuel brought to them by the local suppliers...

do you guys get dirty fuel a lot?

I don't seem to have a problem with dirty fuel but after I had the algae problem when they went to biodiesel, I check it just to make sure and use bio-cide to kill the algae.

My fuel source is 5 miles away...I haul a lot of 5 gallon cans and with cans you get crap. But I just bought a diesel generator...so I will probably end up buying a tank now...
