I have been reading all the old posts on Tillers, read other blogs as well and have come to the conclusion that the KKII is the best tiller choice recommended by most…especially on OTT. I have also discovered that the KKII is sold by Tractor Supply under the name of CountryLIne…but not all stores carry the KKII some cary another brand such as the entire state of Alabama. Does anyone know where I can find a new or used KKII 60" for a decent price? I have seen them range from $1,900 to $2,800 for the same equipment though some report paying as little as $1,150 for this item new.

A local implement dealer just priced me one for $1450. The local tractor supply tillers are made by Tarter.

Don't give up on the County Line made by Tarter. ( http://tarterusa.com/company/ ) They have been around for quite a while and seem to make a good product. All of the County Line tillers (here in PA.) that I've seen have a Tarter label on them somewhere.
Tractor Supply is terrible at keeping their web and catalog info on equipment they sell up to date. The pictures sometimes don't match what they actually have and in this case, the manual that they show for the 60' tiller (under more information) is still labeled for the King Kutter.
Go look at the tiller at Tractor Supply. Does it have the features you want. Check out the Tarter web site. Make your decision on information gathered. There's a bunch of tillers out there which doesn't make it easy to decide. Good luck

Sorry, I missed the local $1450 KK quote as being a post from you. if you can get the KK II locally, then it's practically a no brainer. If you get it, make sure that you check the gear oil, all bolt tightness etc. even though it's from a dealer.

I checked with several local equipment suppliers and received quotes from high $1700 to low $1900 for the same King Kutter TG-60 tiller. I really like the KKII-TG-60 due to the weight and robust tube frame. I can find them online for under $1500 but shipping costs $300… I guess I am gong to just have to wait for a while and see if the prices become more reasonable next fall. Tractor Supply Company has two brands they sale under the CountryLine brand name and in the Southeast they only carry the Tarter Rotary Tiller, not the KK Tiller. Though they have the 60" on sale for $1499.

I'm leaning toward a 72".

You might check around to see if anyone carries Taylor Pittsburgh. My understanding from some of the other forums is that they're the same as a KK.

Will 60" cover your tracks?

Amazing - and thank you for the OP

Your prices got me thinking so I started searching on google and found the KK II 60 in for 1555.99

http://www.farmandfleet.com/products/288142-king-kutter-gear-driven-rotary-tiller.html#.UwjfWLCYb4Y

Then checked shipping costs which are $217.33

No Tax of course

So I can go to my Local Big R and have it Loaded on the trailer or Pickup, drive it home un-load it, and pay $2045.79

Or I can click a button and have it dropped in my driveway for $1773.33 in a week...

Again thanks for getting me to actually Look and Shop :)

Does it wash out your tracks? What type of tires are you running?
