The steering shaft meets the tie rod ends, left side doesn't look seated all the way like the right side. Is this a piece that is pressed in? My eyes aren't the greatest anymore but it looks like it's pressed in. Is it normal?

BTW Merry Christmas!

The tierod piece gets threaded onto the piston shaft, probably by holding one while turning the other. I'll have a look at my BX23S to see how far they're on,perhaps BX2680 series owners will do the same.
I'd think not 'normal',considering the quantity of these pieces being pumped out of 'CNC' machines but.....

I would think that the rod end should be threaded on and bottomed out with some Loctite 242 or equivalent.

The answer is no, it is not normal to me. I would take it back to the dealer to have them correct or replace it however they deem necessary. It should be a warranty claim since your tractor doesn't look very old. Send them the pictures first, because they might need to order parts or they might just send the service tech to you and do it as a field repair.

Thanks guys I'll talk to them about it but after my last ordeal with em, I'm sure their going to say.. It's A Tractor!

If others post with the same results as mine I won't be as concerned but will let them know in case something comes up.

It may be bottomed out internally, no way to tell without pulling it apart. My guess is that it is a nothing burger.

While I have the crowd on here.. I've looked before and now forgotten, how long is regular warranty for? Next fall will be two years, under Kubota warranty also.

Good eye.. I noticed the spot at the bottom only in the photos but not at the top. This could be for a wrench... I'll check the top next time I go out there. Maybe some have a different set-up.
The steering is the same from a BX1500 to a BX2680 so they are all going to have the wrench flats and gap.
