What is the procedure to reply to a private message on OTT. It seemed intuitive but I get error messages that the recipient can not be found. Any suggestions?

NO one is stupid on this site except me sometimes. Go to your private messages and go to the bottom where it says quick reply and type in there at the bottom of their message and hit submit message and your done is a simple way. handy
