Ignition Switch Replacement

Hi all, I'm new here and this is my first post.

I have a short in the ignition switch on my L2900 and need to swap it out for a new one. I'm feeling kinda stupid, but i can't figure how to get the old one out of the dash. Any advice? Thanks much in advance.

If memory serves, a pair of channel locks to remove the chrome retaining ring or nut, reach up behind and remove from cowl. Then uncouple the connector. Then the reverse the procedure.

You might want to use a cloth on the nut not to put marks on it.
