I hadn't given much thought to government intrusion until I saw last night 60 minutes show. Seems that they have been able to track 10s of thousands of cell phones on January 6th when rioters invaded the capital. You would have to see the program to understand how it was done, and how they drew correlations with the information. It appears that they are wanting to only look at the evidence that supports their own conclusions. Watch this video of one of the congressional hearings. This isn't a political post, just an advisatory mention to watch what is happening in Washington. Both parties are participating in this video.

If you were in the government as in worked for, you were finger printed blood typed, tattoos noted scar's identified, drug tested and DNA can be drawn from any or all of them. And you as a new employee you never knew anything about. So in reality there are many many more people in the system than you might think. Big Brother is every where, and I mean every where

I have a CC permit, federal transportation authority card, and I've lost track of how many government background checks I've gone through for work. CC permit, TWIC card for refineries, and half the government background checks I've been through require finger printing.

Not too worried about DNA. I'm an identical twin. 😁😁😁 Granted they've probably got DNA testing down to where they can distinguish the DNA between identical twins now.

I have just completed 30 years of federal government service. I had my finger prints taken, but nothing else that you mentioned.

Adam and Eve might still be in paradise if the original property owner was not snooping and trying to see what they were up to.

What is going to be Henro's next thought-provoking thread? The suspense is killing me to the point that I have my mortician on speed dial! ;)

Actually, I was thinking about asking a "men only" question: How many of you guys use that little opening in men's underwear? I think I tried once when I was six years old or so...

Actually curious. Must be a rare bird that uses that feature...never worked for me. Seems like a complicated addition that adds cost for no benefit to the end user. OR maybe I am just a rare bird...LOL...or should I say quack quack?

Henro,
I've feared for life, loaded my body and mind with alcohol and drugs , in and out of many churches and temples. None of my inward contemplations ever had anything to do with the little opening in my underwear.
For me it depends on the brand and comfort level. I'd say over the top mostly.

I raised three daughters and one grand daughter so I never had to pass the action down.

Quite a few occupations do a complete background check. Even of you are 'removed' from the system, you are not, just the file sealed, meaning a court order is needed to unseal it. Pretty easy to get.
If you have a background check done, people that knew you, that you gave as references or even 'probably knew you' are checked out. They have to verify references are valid.
Not only Government security clearance jobs, but banks, stock market, medical or any job of high responsibility.
One of my childhood friends, a guy I'd not seen since I was ten, called me when I was about 30 to tell me he was just visited by the 'MIB' asking about me. Seems I was getting a new check done and this fellows name came up as having known me at one time. The trouble he and I caused! I still passed the check.
Most checks, they want to know foremost, are you actually honest. Next they are concerned if you have a weakness or 'skeletons in the closet', things that make you a mark for blackmail. Sex issues, drinking, drugs, gambling. Fortunately for me, I am able to manage my sex issues, drug use, drinking and gambling.... Tractor porn, well that is out of control!

Many decades ago a boss told me we had a project that would require I get a government background check. I just laughed and said this should be interesting and do I have to kill people. He told me to mind my damn humor and fill out the paper work. To this day I have no idea how I got the clearance. I thnk my life was so out in the open that blackmail would be worthless.
