So I've read that the hydraulic fluid smell I get when using the FEL is most likely just the vent and I agree as I don't have any leaks that I've seen. I didn't smell it that much until doing the 50hr service and filling to Super UHD2.

But, where is this vent on the L3800? If possible I'd like to relocate / reroute it somewhere else. The puff of strong hyd smell when it's hot and humid and im sweaty and thirsty makes me sick to my stomach.

I'm not sure on your tractor but my L3000 has the vent tube on the tranny fill cap. After loosing 2 or 3 of the little tubes I just happened to have some fuel line that was the same size as the vent. A couple feet of hose, 1 hose clamp and a few zip ties later my problem was solved. No more fluid smell unless the wind just happens to blow the wrong direction and I haven't lost the tube again either. Happy Happy Happy
