I have a L3800 and recently changed the hy.trans fluid. Manual says it should hold around 6.5 gallon, but I have added nearly 8 gallon and still can't see anything on the little sight gage....Any thoughts...?

Are you sure it is NOT above the site glass? Sometimes the new fluid is so clean it is hard to "See" the line.

I had thought about that but discarded the thought. Is there any other way to check it?

The sight glass should be a “bright” white if it is low. I bet you have over filled it. My father did the same thing to his L3800.

I just did my L2501 (similar transmission) and 6 gallons were perfect. I had to start it up, and run it around to get the sight glass to drop.

Drained a couple of gallon out today and yep, there was the little line
across the sight gage. ..once again, appreciate the input.
