thanks to service dept Vic, i drained the trany oil tonight and pulled the screen out. it was half pluged. this was new oil that i used when i replaced
the reverse gear. mabe 15 min run time, anyhoooo,
before i installed the trany oil plug when doing the reverse gear, i machined
a cavity in the plug and installed a powerful rare earth magnet. here is a pic
when i took it out tonight. i had spent an hr draging a magnet on the bottom of that trany and i took out lots of fine metal.

this is what it looks like after i wiped it clean.

If I have a choice, I prefer to have a magnetized drain plug in everything. It just makes sense to collect all the little steel shavings; instead of letting them float with the oil, potentially causing problems.

Does Kubota make magnetic drain plugs for all areas of the tractor that needs to be drained?

Good idea on magnet i attach a couple of magnets near the drain plug then remove when i change oil .
