I hope someone out there has changed a pto oil seal on a kubota L2050? I unbolted 4 bolts and the pto plate cover will turn side to side but will not slide off. The parts diagram shows a slinger first? I'm wondering if this is whats stopping the cover from coming off. I never herd of a slinger and do not no how you remove it. If any body has replaced a seal please help me get this cover plate off. Thanks Randy

When you pull the 4 bolts the shaft and the cover and all the guts in yellow need to be pulled out of the back in one piece, then it can be disassembled to replace the seal.

I put four wedges behind the plate and got it to move about a 1/4" . At this point it feel like I'm going to brake something. Is this something that you have done.

#170 is a splined collar that should just slip off of both the front and rear (nothing pinning it on), Sounds like if the bearing case (#310) will not come out that #170 has worn in and is biting and binding on the shaft splines, try turning the PTO output shaft both directions to get it to release, you might have to take the wedges back off to relieve pressure and bite.
If it won't come out your going to have to get serious and pull the top off and get down in there and pry the collar off the front shaft.
