I am beginning to say bad things about Kubota. Can someone tell me how to remove the dash? I have remove 4 screws and the key receptacle. Something is holding it in the top center of the dash. I am afraid to apply to much pressure because I'm not sure it is suppose to pop loose and don't know the direction to pry. I have applied pressure up and out without any success. If you look under the hood there is to large bolts on the firewall but the are 4" each side of where the dash is being held. See notes on attached photos about hole in center top of dash . The hole alines with where the dash is being held but points up towards the dark gray plastic. I can't find a screw to remove with the screw driver. Thanks in advance

The dash on both the Grand L'30 and L40's have a Philips screw in the dead center of the display with the screw pointing almost upward. Thinking your dash is somewhat similar.

Put a screw driver in there and turn counterclockwise.

Thanks for the reply I have tried for 30 minutes to find the screw. Surly Kubota would not put the screw 5 inched deep in a hold with not guidance for finding the screw. I can insert the screw 3" and turn it 45 degrees in any direction. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the suggestion of looking at parts diagram.
https://www.kubotausa.com/parts
The link above will take you to a page where you can select illustrated parts. Accept terms and search by model number.

I still don't see how to get the top center loose. Mine is in is exactly like the illustration but I don't see the screw or something to pop out. I will keep looking.

Thanks

I may never buy another Kubota. I can't believe dash removal is this hard. They covered the hole with a black sticker so you could not find the bolt. Next they aligned the hole with the hood raised, looks like I will have to remove the hood to get the bolt out. Why make it this hard?

The bolts to take off the hood is behind the dash board and the bolt to remove the dash board is block by the hood, how the heck was the tractor assembled?

Take the hood off. It's a VERY simple task. Remove two clips, unplug the harness, use a helper and lift the hood all the way up, pull toward the front and it basically falls off in your hands. One person can do it but it's awkward.

Then you can get to the screw you need to get out a LOT easier.

While the hood is off, is a great time to power wash the engine and under hood areas.

I will try to find the clips but I have looked for hours. All I can find is 6 bolts behind the dash board. Thanks

lugbolt, I have attached a photo of the hood mounting; can you tell me where to look for the easy removal clips? Thanks

I finally got the dash cover removed. I'm think my 2010 M6040 tractor has a design screw up that Kubota fixed for the next models. To remove the dash, there are 4 bolts with easy access. Two at the bottom and one on each side. At the top center of the dash is a 10 mm 2" bolt with a hole in the firewall 1/2" deep on the bottom. The bolt would be easy to remove from under the hood. However, the hood covers half the bolt when raised and all the bolt when lowered. The hood is welded on the mounting brackets and you have to remove the 6 bolts holding the hood brackets after removing the dash cover. The firewall is almost 1/8". It took me 2 days of drilling and cutting with a Dermel tool to get a hole big enough to get a 10 mm box end wrench on and remove the bolt.
