Ran across some good reading and wanted to share. This particular article is about the history of motor oil but the website has a lot more really good information on motor oils and additives. They are here to sell their product (ZDDP additive) but they provide information and educate the reader into understanding why and when to use it. It's well written, well sourced, and is hands down the best and clearest information on motor oils I've yet read.
