I've got a B3030 with ag tires and I want something less aggressive, either R3 or R4. The existing tires are 7-12 front and 12.4-16 rear. I found a set of tires nearby that are 27x8.50-15 front and 41x14-20 rear. Diameters of old tires front/rear are 24/37.6 = .64 and new front/rear are 26.2/41.2 = .64.

Can I use the bigger tires if the ratio is the same? Would I just need bigger rims?

the ratio is the key, if never on concrete or pavement you can slip a bit here and there.......but if your ratio works, hard to go wrong! AS you get bigger or smaller tires, your speed also changes......high gear is faster on larger tires and so on.....

be careful with bigger tires.......traction changes too. Ag tires grip like hell due to the fact there is a lot of weight on a small piece of rubber, turf tires dont tear up grass cause there is less weight per sq inch of rubber. Big tires (wide) will float more on the surface.....etc.....

My B3030 has R4's on it, 23x850-14 front and 12.4-16 rears, and if memory serves me correctly you'll have to buy a pair of front rims and go with these sizes because I don't think you can get the right rolling circumference size tire with the 12 inch rim. Haven't looked up what the difference is in a while but can on Monday and see if that's right or not to go with R4's.
If you want R3's you go with 13.6-16's on the rear and again I'd have to check my notes on what it takes up front to keep the ratio correct but I've looked into changing mine over as personally. I prefer the R3 turfs for ice and snow traction over R4's plus it's best for mowing too but it won't fit in my garage door because it's to tall ( mine has the cab ) and I've already made the opening taller than it already is now unfortunately.

It is a ratio you need to worry about but it's not a size ratio, it's the RC (rolling circumference) that is critical, you need to keep that ratio the same.

The tire you are looking at are the right RC.

This set already has rims:

Wolfman,
these were sold when I clicked the link for $413.00...what a deal wow!!!
Even with the cost of freight it was still one heck of a deal for 4 tires and rims brand new.

I found a set of 13.6-16 rears locally and ordered 24x8.50-12 for the front. I don't have the numbers in front of me anymore but when I did the math it seemed correct. Sure rides smooth than the ag tires.

I sure hope you come back and read this before you have the tires installed and break some VERY expensive parts on your tractor!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE-READ WHAT I WROTE FOR THE FRONT TIRE SIZE BEING 14 INCH !!!

Please shoot me an email: cwtireal@gmail.com and I'll explain it again so
we can make sure you don't make a huge mistake putting the wrong size tires on which will make your front and rear gear ratios totally wrong.

Here is the workshop manual for the B3030.... it specifies R1 as 7-12 and 12.4-16 and R3 as 24x8.50-12 and 13.6-16. Granted it says the EU model but are they really different?
