Had a left headlight not working so I pulled the assembly and disconnected the wiring. Problem was the bulb had come out of the socket. Fixed that and reconnected all wiring, but must have screwed something up because now I have the right light on in the bright light position and the left light on with the key in the dim light position.

Any suggestions which wires I got misconnected?? I guess I can just moving wires around, but hope one of you guys can direct me the most likely spot.

Thanks for your help!

Sounds like the wires got switched when the wires were plugged back into the quick connects on the harness. Swapping the two wires on the the one socket to the opposite quick connect should take care of it

What does the bulb look like? Could the ends of the bulb get switched to the point that it lights the wrong filament ?

Sound like you have bulb problems too. One lights on hi, other lights on low. Filaments gone in both bulbs.
I replaced both my lights with single filament flood lights in rubber housings. No high beams but im ok with that.

thanks to everyone for their reply's!! Milo got it exactly right - match the wires - brown to brown and orange to orange. I really need to pay better attention when taking things apart. this tractor still has original wiring so color matching does matter.

Both headlights are now working in both modes - high and dim beams.

Thanks again for your help!
