Can someone tell me if the electric fuel supply pump runs all the time when the key is in the on position?
I seem to recall it shutting off after a short time if the engine wasn't running. Mine is currently running all the time. The unit is a 2017 with just over 600 hours.
I found another post from 2021 with the same symptoms but no mention of it shutting off with the key on 🤔. He reported it was the pump. I don't want to throw parts at it or drop 150.00 on a pump if the issue is elsewhere.

I'm asking as it occasionally hiccups as though it's not getting enough fuel. This happens when mowing up a steep hill or mowing a similar hill sideways.
It is very inconsistent / intermittent which is always fun to diagnose :(. It's also not repeatable.
I know there are several safety switches that could cause the issue as well. I can jumper them but the fuel pump question may be an indicator of a pump going south so I'm starting with that before I chase my tail.
Might this also be a common failure ? Messicks has 2 in stock so ?
TiA 🍻

I don't have the WSM for that model, but if it's like all the rest of the Kubota's, the pump runs all the time the key is on.
If it's not then there's and issue.
If it's clicking loud and fast it's not moving fuel, so check the fuel flow to the pump.

Thank you very much for responding,
My 71 YO mind is playing tricks on me :(. My RAM is full and the type I was born with is no longer available.
I've been warned by neurologist's to not try and delete any files as it may blow a vacuum tube or corrupt other files. Hopefully Musk will come up with something when he's done playing with space ships 🤣

I do have the WSM but the schematic doesn't show any fuel pressure switches unless they are internal to the pump. I hate chasing intermittent issues. Will try to post back when I find the culprit/
thank you again 🍻🍻

that... cutting out sounds more like 'fuel starvation', no fuel at exit spigot of tank.

this..." mowing a similar hill sideways. " is NOT a good thing to be doing.

Might be a fuel issue as it's been awhile since I changed the primary filter 🤫 so I'll likely start there.
As for the sideways thing, been doing it for 30+ years as long as the grass is dry and the 4wd is in place. Would not try it without. Speed is also a factor. Don't do it all the time but do alter the patterns IE: Up -down, 45 degrees one way, next time 45 the other, and then sideways.
Thank you for your input and concern (y)
