Glow plug circuit problem L4310

I have a L4310 and when I turn ignition switch to preheat the glow plugs, the dash light flickers and goes out and a relay chatters. I replaced the glow plug relay and the timer relay and they did not help.

Any help appreciated.

The 'flickering' tells the tale. The circuit is losing its supply-power every time it trys to kick-in and send power to the glowplugs....then repeats over and over and over.

I would check for poor-connections on both the positive and negative portions of the circuit. Also look for wires which are turning to green powder on the inside.

You need to appreciate the important role the coolant temp sensor plays in the glow plug operation.

Please study the attached material and ask if anything is not clear.
