This has probably been gone through before but how large a tiller do you think would work on a GL3540? I have had several different answers, appreciate any help.

I'm using a 62" bushhog tiller on my L3000 and it doesn't even know it's behind it. A King Kutter brand tiller has 6 tines per row and they are more of a load. I have no doubt I could pull a 6' bushhog tiller without any problem but I feel sure a 60" KK would be about all I wanted.

Not all tillers are equal in quality or the load they will put on the tractor. When you are thinking about the size take into account the weight of the tiller. A 48" KK tiller is heavier than my 62" bushhog tiller and it take more power to operate.

My GL 3010 handles a 60" King Kutter gear drive tiller with no problems but let's just say my HP is adequate without much power to spare.

I have a B7500 21hp and a 48" King Kutter and that is a prefect match. When using the tiller I have not yet had the tractor bog down. Like bulldog says the KK's are heavy. I think it is about 570 lbs. BTW when I do some FEL work or use the bucket forks the tiller makes a excellent counter weight. The KK will pretty well make dirt into powder.

The King Kutter 60" gear drive Works great on my L3010 HST. The HST makes it very easy to maintain the proper engine rpm for whatever the soil conditions are.

I have the same tractor and I am confident a 60" will be more than fine. I Would of picked one up this week but with all the rain and no rush, next week should be the answer.

KK will be my answer bang for buck. Only debate was $200 moremfor a reverse rotation tiller. Thanks to bulldog I think i will save my money. What prices are you getting for these tillers? $1450 here is the best I could find.

How much are you tilling? I am just curious.

I have a 48" ok that I bought at cost and it was 1500.
The best money I have ever spent also the reason I bought the L2800
It killed my 19 hp case and was more the my buddy's 20 hp massy wanted.
