I had fuel oil delivered yesterday and I asked if he could put off road diesel into my drums. He said it's all the same anymore for what they put in the tanks, it is diesel. It was dye'd red. I had him fill my drums and put it in my heaters and everything ran fine. I put my archoil addetive in the drums. What are the chances I can run it in my b7200/8200 without issue?

Fuel oil #2 = Diesel fuel # 2. Fuel oil #1 = Diesel fuel #1.
They all now days are ultra low sulfur.

Daferris is correct home heating fuel oil and diesel are the same

The only word of caution os to check with the supplier. The sulfer content of heating oil is not regulated at 15ppm like on and off road motor fuel. Most suppliers don't differentiate because that just adds complexity to inventory. Those around here do not. However, depending on your region, they could.

Diesel does have a higher cetane, and as you mentioned a small difference in additives for winter #1 vs summer blend #2 (#1 has anti-gel in it vs #2 does not - BUT, older tractors - before '07 can run the "old" HHO better than newer engines due to the much higher sulfur content.

Both of those older machines B7200-B8200 will take the older high sulfur better than a newer machine.

If you could "find" old high sulfur content - it would harm all the TIER parts in the newer diesels.

AS mentioned - 99% of all HHO and Diesel are ultra low sulfur NOW - so the point of running HHO in the diesel is almost the same stuff.

My BX23S came from the dealer with Red fuel (off road diesel/home heating oil)

I have used it since 2017.... no problem.

I've run it in my 7.3 powerstroke also.... occasionally.

When i rebuilt my 6.0 powerstorke after sitting for 5 years, I put 20 gallons of fresh red in it to mix with the 20 gallons already in there, hoping it would work. Sure enough, it ran fine.

I forgot i ran my ferd on that stuff without issue. Surely if that runs, my 30 year old tractors will be fine.

It might be different where you are, but here home heating oil is off road diesel.
No extra additives or anything special.

I would have to assume from the statements above, that even the old HHO #2 with higher sulfur content, "Wouldn't" harm any newer 25 + under HP engines that don't have the DPF emissions.
Is that correct?

If you could find it, it would be fine in an emissions exempt machine.

I used to use HHO in my Mercedes 240D/300D/300SD/350SDL and my BX22. The only time that I ever had an issue was during the blizzard of 1978 when the fuel jelled. I learned afterward that Mercedes had a fix for gelling, and it was an inline fuel line heater that used the engine coolant for the heat.

One of them certainly is. Since 2020, PA law requires HHO to be <15ppm sulfer content. PA is not a part of the northeast alliance states that decided to implement this standard back in 2012, but did this on their own.
When you said the "old HHO #2", I made the assumption you were referring to the old 4000 ppm fuel. My understanding is that was phased out long ago.
