I have a BX23D and I just finished fabricating a hydraulic motor to operate the chute on my snowblower. When I hooked it up, I used the outlets for the loader that would control the bucket dump function. When I moved the joystick to the left, the motor spun as expected. When I moved to the right, the motor didn't move and I could hear the RPM's drop as the hydraulic pressure built up. My first thought was something with the motor, so I switched the lines to see if the motor would spin in the opposite direction. It did spin in the other direction and when I tried to move it in the opposite direction, it did the same thing where I could hear the pressure build up. I took it a step further and hooked it up to the other two outlets, the ones that control the loader arms up and down. When I did that, the motor spun in both directions. That leads me to my question, is that how the bucket outlets I originally used are supposed to function, or do I have a problem?

Thanks,
Mitch

Your bucket roll up works as normal, ie stick to the left. The bucket tip or roll down works as follows. Move stick to the right and bucket dumps (ie regenerative mode or quick dump) but press it further to the right (past the detent) and it works as a normal hydraulic circuit.

3rd position is regen and fourth is tandem? Seems backwards to me.

Wow, do I feel stupid right now. I've owned this machine for over 17 years and never noticed that the stick went to the left the same as it does forward (floating the bucket). So, it was just user error. Everything is working like it should which makes me happy now that I have a working hydraulic motor for my snowblower chute. Thank you for the help.
