After countless hours doing the bx filter mod I have finally got the filter assembly I decided to use to quit leaking fuel. It was a major pita but I think I got it( of course after I ordered a different filter assembly) but my question is what is the trick to get the fuel filter closest to the injection pump full of diesel fuel? My fear is that on a hill it will start to suck air. I got it about 1/2 full but can't seem to get it full since it's on an angle. I have tried everything I can think of . Thanks for the help

Have you considered putting a sqeeze bulb like they use on a portable gas tank for a fishing boat just before that filter? I got some perkins diesels and thats the only way to prime them up:)

Why worry? Every time I change filters they have air left above fuel. However, when finally ready to come off they don't have air. So, it probably gets dissolved or brought along with the fuel and maybe sputters the engine a little at the time.
