Has anyone tried using the FEL float function while using a root rake or grapple? All I've heard of it being used for is plowing snow.

That would depend on the type of root rake or grapple that you have.
The models that have horizontal teeth you could, but the models with vertical teeth you couldn't.

Mine digs in too that's what got me thinking if the float would help with that especially if the grapple has a float bar in the teeth

According to the tractor expert on YouTube [emoji23] the round bar between the teeth is designed to float the grapple and be more effective as a root rake...

He's says he's using float, but more times than not he was controlling the depth more than floating.

The style of your teeth on your grapple has more to do with float than that bar, which is for strength of the teeth more than it is for float. ;)

But whatever work for you is the best way to run it! :D

I think it's mentioned that the bar is also a depth stop.

FYI float doesn't work for grapple or in my opinion for moving dirt either. All it wanted to do was lift the front tires off the ground...oh well at least now I know.
