With the 50 hour service looming in the near future. I find the Kubota manual to be very confusing as to which motor oil to use. Kubota says to use any oil that is CF or higher designation. Then on the other hand they say to not use any oil that has the CJ-4 designation which is for tractors with a DPF. Just about all the motor oil(including Kubota) I see for diesel engines has the CJ-4 designation. What gives?

I mis read my manual - have a kioti with DPF.

Typical first 50 hour oil and filter change. I THOUGHT i read change it every 100 hours there after...coming up on 150 so this thread got me looking.

10-30, 10-40 or 15-40.

Winter use it says use a synthetic trans fluid..not that i'm interested in changing it seasonally, now that temps are in the 30s and 40s and I can see a beneift.. takes a while for things to warm up and loosen up. Not looking forward to 5F days.

Anyway, the manual says change the oil every 400 hours - no type, 4 hundred. just CHECK it every 100...

FOUR HUNDRED hours on oil and filter?

It's in the manual twice that way...so doubt it's a mistake.

What does kubota say to do on their DPF tractors?

What I find puzzling is my book calls for 3.7 Quarts with a new filter and it takes 4.5 Quarts to get the oil close to the high mark on the dipstick.
