You can request a certificate of origin from your dealer. Here in Ma. You can use that to request a title from the state. Check your local DMV.

No CO in VA either. Just a bill of sale. I thought it was odd and did some checking. No, no cert due to a tractor not being considered a vehicle that will ever be on the road. Golf carts can be used in some communities and therefore can have a CO interestingly. If you want to have the VIN 'on file', you can have a UCC-1 made and held by the state. Cost is about $20 (or was the last time I filed one, a while ago).
It made me uncomfortable but the dealer told me they keep a record (probably for 10 years, Kubota keeps a record for the original purchaser and I have the sales invoice.

Thanks for the replies everyone and yes I am on the south side of Crown Point, how did you know? I actually bought the tractor in Valpo(small world).
Because on the North side it is all built up and no real farms. The South side there are a lot of farms.
