Determine flood damage

Hello friends... Need some wisdom... The tractor you see attached is 2 months old and the picture is pretty much self explanatory.

I am told the water was about 6" higher than what is shown here, and you can't see it, but it is sitting on a utility trailer.

What should I do next? I am jumping airports to get home, but not sure what to do with the tractor once I get there.

Any cause for alarm? I really could use it to help clean up debris, but do not want to risk further damage. It does have the Kubota warranty.

You most likely are fine and good to go, but to be safe check all the fluid levels and if none are fuller than normal then your fine there, check the air filter, if it's wet don't crank it, you will have to turn it by hand to see of there is water in any of the cylinders.

I would agree with NIW! But Kubota warranty will not cover flood damage! But if you are financed with Kubota? And took the insurance from Kubota? Then that is covered.

Welcome to OTT.
The flood damage I've seen in Louisiana on the news is a terrible situation. I agree if you have insurance any damage should be covered.

I would suggest to loosen drain plugs several rounds on both engine & trans and let it sit that way for a couple of hrs with a container under plug area. If water is present in either component water will leak out around threads of plug into container. If any indications of presence of water in either component then I'd recommend changing the oil & filters.

While the other guys answered your op, I just want to post my hope that any other damage you received from the floods was minimal. It's a truly terrible situation down there! Good luck and godspeed.

Check your fluids but it looks like you should be fine. Don't forget to give it a good grease job to push any water out of greaseable joints.

As all have said you should be fine, follow their advice.

I do have one additional concern though, the front axle, being a non-pressure, no engine or transmission heat component, it definitely needs the oil drained and replaced as it was surely under water.

I would play it safe and just change all of the fluids and filters. If you do find any water change the fluid run it for a while and change it again. Fluids and filters are cheap compared to major repairs due to water damage. Hope all goes well.

Thanks everyone... I think I am going to play it safe and call the dealer, find out how much/how fast they can squeeze it in and confirm everything is alright. If it indeed took water, I would prefer they find it and deal with the Kubota warranty (yes, it was financed with Kubota).

My hope was to be able to use the tractor as part of the cleanup efforts, but time is not something I have much of right now (to change all the fluids, most importantly, the front axle).

I am sitting in the Newark airport right now trying to get home to get a first hand inspection of the house, but my neighbors tell me the house missed water in it by about 6" (double-wide)... And my garage/shop had water over the windows. A lot of work ahead of me, no doubt.

I wonder if that's why old John Deere's had a snorkel and exhaust pipe as high as they did?

Looks like you should be fine, but as stated check your air filter first and best of luck with the cleanup.
