Made a bike ride to Destin and went shark fishing with a guide that I swap hunting trips out with. I hooked into 3 and all 3 won. He said that they had to be at least 8' or better. They would strip about 300 yds of 100# test, we would go after it and get some back on the reel and they'd strip it again. I fought each one over 30 minutes each and all 3 finally found something to rub the line against and the fight was over. That is the first time I ever had a reel get so hot he had to pour water on it. I told him he needed to change oil in them.
