Im guessing a safety Switch. Check switches at brake, seat and clutch to see if they are getting fully activated. Also Wiggle your PTO and or drive selector to make see if it is potentially the neutral safety switch.

If this is NEW from the dealer...... call the dealer to check all that under warranty.

Check to see if HST pedal is centered if it is an HST. Sometimes jiggling it while turning key will uncover problem

Check to see if PTO is off.

Each of these has a safety switch, and so one of them may have a problem too...

I agree with Sheep and Coach, one of those safety switches is causing the problem.

I need to pull mine in the garage and adjust the neutral position on the hydro pedal.

I've had to nudge the pedal to get it to start several times, plus it has shut it self off when I got off the seat because the pedal wasn't in true neutral.

Fairly simple adjustment, just haven't taken the time.

I have had this problem with my 2650 as well. The machine shut down when I got off the seat during a blizzard. I couldn't get it restarted for 30 minutes while it was getting buried in snow. I finally kicked the HST pedal in both directions and it fired right up. Maybe there is a design flaw here?

The position of the switch against the arm must move over time - design flaw perhaps, but a simple design that must need to be tweaked over time.

A nickle zip tie can fix it too! :D

Can you explain this for future in case it happens to me in a blizzard?
If it does happen then can you just move the pedal until it starts? Mine is new and I have not had any issues so is there something to check periodically?

I'm going with the hst neutral switch. Mine did this just a couple weeks ago. I about had the thing torn apart before I stumbled on the issue.

I have found on mine, that I just had to lube up the HST linkage, when it didnt return to neutral properly. Then works fine.

My B2650 would not restart too. I tried lube as well as adjusting the HST pedal switch, but the mechanism was bad and no amount of adjustment would fix the problem. My Kubota dealer came out and replaced the mechanism at no charge (less than a year old, 80 hours). Now have 150 hours, no recurring problem (although running a branch through the radiator put me out of commission for a while!).

rkidd, thanks for the tip on lubing the linkage.

Crawled under the tractor and greased the zerk plus squirted a little oil on the pivots and all is well.

Are the pivot points you are talking about on the pedal? Would the cab model be any different? I am pretty sure I have put grease in the zert, went around all the grease points in the manual several times. At what hour did you start having an issue?

I didn't think there is a zerk on the HST -- only the brake pedal. I had to lube up the HST pedal by spraying remoil on any linkage I could get to with the straw on the can. Did I miss a grease fitting?

Hey PHPaul. Good to talk to you again. Glad a little lube worked out for you. I have 740 hrs on mine and the couple times I had to play with the HST pedal to get it to return to neutral that is all I have had to do. Never had to adjust anything. As for the other posters questions, I have never found a grease fitting for the HST on mine, but I know Paul has a cabbed version and mine is rops. Not sure if that makes a difference or not. I just lay on the right side of the machine and reach up and move the HST pedal and you can then see all of the pivot points and then hit them.

Okay, thanks, will take a look at it after this storm. Some kind of white stuff falling from the sky. On the cab model there is a zert underneath, page 72 of the owners manual, that is labeled (1) Grease fitting (Speed control pedal), so I assume that is what Paul is talking about. Maybe they figured it out and added it in new machines??

Yup, Stmar, that's the one. Not sure when the issue showed up, guessing around 100 hours. About 260 on it now.
