Hello ,I am looking for advice/info on replaceing or repairing my d950 in a b8200 that has a cracked head, bad cam,and poor threads in the engine mounting bosses
I can get a d750 block but what is the difference ? bore? stroke ? injectors?
also thinking about which other motors may work with out major changes. I know of a d1005 ,would that be a option?
Thanks for your help !

The D950's are fairly common, I've picked up good running ones for $450.

Keep an eye on Craigs list and EBay.

If the head is cracked why would you want to change the block? ,Just buy a new head.
No the head off a D750 has smaller valves.
No a D1005 will not fit either.

the threads in the block where the front axle bolts to the block have been damaged badly and may not have the strength needed , had a quote of $350 to weld and tap a plug in to them,
what other units use the d950 (generators ?)
thanks

The D950's were used in skid-steers (Bobcat and others), Kubota tractors, Lawnmowers, (Jacobson, and others) (think golf course mowers), many different industrial applications, like light towers, generators, pumps.

Hi, I'm looking to do either alot of work to a B6100E or do a motor swap. I read part of a post that you commented on regarding doing a D950 conversation. There's a guy in Ann Arbor, Michigan that has a D950 out of a Jacobson mower and is asking $800. He does not know how many hours are on the motor. What would you give for a motor like this? My question on a conversation is, will any adapter plate be needed to mount a D950 in a D650 application? The motor in question is rated at 23hp...is that too much for a B6100E? Please let me know, I appreciate your help. Have an AWESOME DAY!

I would say your right in the ball park price wise if the motor runs well with very little blow by.

Make sure it's a D950 and not a D905 as that engine will not fit.

You will not need an adapter plate as they are the same block, but you will need to make or get alternator brackets and an alternator as the the D950 has a water pump where the dynamo is now, and you will need to alter the radiator to make the cooling lines fit, the rest is bolt on part swaps.
