Newbi to Kubota and diesel in general. My old tractor was a Ford 9N gas burner which I upgraded to a BX24D. My BX is in very rough shape but am in the process of bringing it back. Biggest problem is the engine smokes at high rpm. Basically anything over 1/2 throttle. Already replaced fuel, both fuel filters, oil and filter, and air filter. No real difference. I uploaded a video of start up and the smoking at high idle. It almost seems that the injector pump might be faulty... maybe broken spring? You will see it smokes on start up and only runs on two cylinders, but that goes away after a couple mins. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yep you got a problem.

I'm going to say I'm 90% sure that engine needs a rebuild!
I'm thinking cracked broken piston lands.
Doing way too much hammering!

Have you checked the valve lash?

Pull the injectors and do a compression test.

And QUIT running it, your going to do more damage the more you run it.

I was afraid it might be done. Might just try to repower with a used engine. Do you know if a d722 would bolt up okay? I can find a few of those, but the d902 seem harder to come by.
