Conflicted, Finally freeze or the status quo

That time of year again. Stone drive was properly installed. Mirafi 500x fabric, 14 inches crushed limestone, compacted, topped w/ 2 inches of very fine limestone, finer than the mix used in a chip seal process. hard as concrete except when saturated w/ wet snow.


Until temps stay frozen, the skid shoes and rubber cutting edge will pick up the fine material


when frozen, no issue but not ready for sustained freezing temps this early in the winter season.


Everything is just more difficult in freezing temps, including watering livestock. The exception is snow removal beneath a thawed driveway surface.

I agree. I can't stand the cold but am so ready for the ground to freeze. I tore up a good portion of my driveway and portions of my yard last night. Frustrating...

No better in Central New York, but we probably have much less snow than WNY has right now.

I can deal with a few inches on unfrozen stone, but ALOT is no fun...:(
