My BX25D was cutting out going uphill...changed the fuel filters...same issue. Figured something was in the tank...so...good news is there wasn't much corrosion on the fuel sender. Bad news is someone (not me) dropped a foil seal in the tank.

Anyone know where to get a screen for the tank? Too big of an opening and I'm surprised I haven't done dropped something stupid in...

My Yamaha generator came with a screen insert, so I suspect a search on eBay would find something that would work. You could also just get in the habit of using a Mr Funnel filter.

maclean,

IF you dont mind me asking .......how many hours you think you have getting the old girl broken down to that point?

Anything could drop down into the filler hole - I am surprised parts of the titanic are not found in those tanks!:D:)

Maclean, I don't know the dia. of the opening on your tank, but you might look at something like this and perhaps make an adaptation to make it fit. These were used on many of the older B's that I know of. The opening dia. may have been like 2 1/2" (of course converted to mm).:D

I like this idea, a strainer built into the opening of the tank. Easy to insert and remove, no more accidents (except water?).

Will have to shop around for one up here in Canada...

I use this all the time - a Gatorade bottle fits into the tank and this fits into it perfectly.....damn shame we cannot find something like this that WOULD fit into tank and lock into place - much like the old B series filters.

Takes me about two hours to break the tractor down. I see to be doing it at least once a year for the HST fan. Really not that many fasteners...remove two bolts for the HST petal...six 14mm bolts for the floor pan...two up front, four in the back. Disconnect the taillight and blinkers. Six 17mm bolts for the roll bar. Four bolts under each grab bar handle. Remove the rubber lever ends and off everything comes.

Fuel tank isn't even bolted in. It slides in. The PTO switch bracket is the only thing in the way...

Inner diameter of the fuel neck is 2.95 inches or 75mm. I got two calls into places that make custom stainless basket screens...maybe we can organize a group buy...

I'm getting a quote from Utah Biodiesel Supply for a 3 inch outer lip by 2.75 inch inner by 2 inch deep 100 micron mesh. They can custom make any size basket strainer you'd like.

I'd be interested in one of these. I'm tired of the dirty looks when I buy panty hose.....:)
Well quit buying lipstick and coverall at the same time. =)

I ordered a filter...will take pics and post a write-up as soon as it arrives.
