My 2008 BX 24 power steering cylinder was leaking fluid. I talked to my local Kubota dealer and he suggested to replace the power steering cylinder kit. Their tech told me to remove the unit using two bolts on each side, disconnect the power steering hoses. He also gave me printed instructions which showed to separate the front axle from the frame.

Disconnecting the power steering hose, I found almost impossible with the tools I have so I went with the printed instructions which in part states:
1. Remove the power hose clamp
2. Place the garage jack under the front axle
3. Remove the cotter pin
4. Remove the slotted nut of center pin and separate the axle from the frame.

I did all the above 1 through 3 and part of 4 but failed to see separating the axle from the frame.

Can anyone shed some light on how to do that?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I guess I don't get why you need to remove the axle? If it's like my BX25D there are two hoses and brackets bolted to the axle on each side...you'll need to remove the ball joints...they unbolt...but that's about it...

You are right! That is what I ended up doing, but not being a mechanic, it took me a few hours! I was under the impression that the hydraulic hoses needed to come off first. Now that I know how to do it, I could probably do it in a couple hours.
Thanks for chiming in!!

I don't even take these cylinders off to fix them anymore. I just remove the end and pull the ram out of them still attached to the tractor. it means working on my old knees for a while but I don't have to fight with those darn hoses!
