BX-1500 Front wheel housing is broken

HI Everyone new to this forum

Well first off went out to use the tractor and noticed it was acting up, it would shimmy when I tried to turn the wheels. Then the left front wheel started locking up.

got out and looked at the front axle and found the front casing was broken.

The oil is from me trying to get the wheel to rotate

I was able to get wheel to turn again, I checked the oil level it was empty So I filled it with gear oil.

It looks like the part is about $200.00 based on internet prices, I have to check with my dealer.

Wanted to see if there was any suggestions on what to look for when I take this apart and if there are any additional parts i may want to get. (I got laid off last Feb so $$ is tight)
Also any suggestions for disassembly and assembly of the wheel would be appreciated

My computer monitor is 40" and your picture is 2 time the size of the screen, might want to resize it!

Where is the chunk of steel at?
How long has it been broken?
The fact that you had to work at getting it rolling sound like your going to be looking at changing bearings and seals too.
