Got delivery today on a used BX1870 this afternoon. I also purchased a Land Price RCR1242 bush hog.
When I mounted the bush hog to the tractor the drive line coupling won’t clear the pto to allow attachment.
Is drive line length critical as long as it isn’t long enough to do damage? They recommend two inches slip movement between the inner and outer section, but does it hurt if there is more than this?

I think I found my answer. I believe the previous owner was using a quick hitch that puts the bush hog further away from the pto.
Will try to find one tomorrow. Looks like it will be worthwhile.

You mean 'Land Pride'. PTO shafts are inexpensive. Probably less than a quick hitch costs.
