Good afternoon.
Brought home what stated on the hood was a B7100 on the hood and plate on the tans states b7100, The serial number starts with b7001 and the there is a funky character followed by 8656. This is the geared 4x4 model. Is this a "gray market" model?

This also has the B219 FEL.
Tires are good, Hydros, all work when cranking.
Tire sizes: (which from this forum seem to be the correct sizing)
Rear 29x12.5x15
Front: 20x8x10

Looking for opinions:
Previous owner stated it will need rings, I do not want to tear down and find potentially more problems - considering purchasing a low hour engine from the place in TN. The engine in it is the 750 which would run 1395 before shipping.
This far I have under $1,000 in in. Thoughts? Then potentially sale the existing engine....

Does anyone have a step by step to inspect the engine or an online manual?

Thanks!

Lots of blow by when it is trying to start. The previous owner stated that it would start with LOTS of love- that could mean lots of $$.
Yes 4 bolt front rims.
Thanks for the reply! I have downloaded.
I will see if I can get pictures loaded.

Yup, from everything I see, pure B7100 & B219 FEL.
Rubber looks decent, is there much of a size variation between those different fronts?
$1395 for a decent replacement engine would be a steal out here.

Is this a tractor you plan on keeping?

If you are going to change out another engine and it cost you $1500 by the time you get it....why not rebuild what you have? Benefit is, you know what you have when you're done.

It sound like the rings are wore to the point of low compression. How many hours on the engine?

Here's what the part will cost from these folks. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Kubota-...274316?hash=item2a2c626ccc:g:yHEAAOSwT6pVm6Za

Worst case , new injection pump $450 guessing, new injectors $65 each. Not much else to replace to have a very reliable engine, and there is no reason to think you'd need IP and injectors.
